Have you been experiencing pain in or around your ear, jaw tenderness, clicking or popping noises when you open your mouth,
or even head and neck aches?

These are common symptoms of TMJ, symptoms you should discuss with our staff.

You have two joints, called the TMJ’s, and several jaw muscles and ligaments that make it possible to open and close your mouth.  They work in concert when you chew, speak and swallow.

The TM joint is a very complicated joint and is located on each side of your head.  This joint allows your mouth to make many different movements; open and close, slide forward and back, and slide from side to side, just to name a few.  Any problem that prevents this complex system of muscles, ligaments, discs and bones from working together properly may result in a painful TMJ disorder.

Treatments for TMJ pain may include stress reducing exercises, muscle relaxants, or wearing a mouth protector to prevent teeth grinding.
